Enjoy Sleeping With Your Partner?
This month marks the beginning of national bed month organised by The Sleep Council. We at Incontinence UK are proud supporters of this and would like to share with you some tips The Sleep Council have put together to ensure you get a good night’s sleep and to ensure you stay nice and dry. Did you know that almost 50% of people sleep with a partner and that around 50% of sleep disturbance is caused by sharing your bed. It is recommended that if your partner disturbs your sleep on a frequent basis it may be worth looking at a larger bed or ensuring your bed and bedroom is set up correctly including:- Ensuring that your duvet is big enough for the both of you. Duvet hogging is not uncommon.
- Snoring is one of the main reasons why couples sleep separately. Ask your GP for advice on how to manage your partner’s snoring.
- Look at buying a bigger bed such as a kingsize or superking – it is not only an investment in getting a better sleep but in your relationship.
- Turn off all gadgets and remove from the bedroom. The blue light that emits from mobiles, computer, laptops, etc. can unconsciously play havoc with your body’s circadian rhythms and wake you up at inopportune times.
