17 January 2018
The Christmas and New Year holiday period always adds some extra calories

on; so this January why not burn off those calories to help keep you fit and help manage any incontinence issues.
Being overweight can make your bladder and incontinence issues worse as extra weight may put pressure on pelvic floor muscles which can become weak so it is recommended where possible to try to lose a few pounds.
Getting moving can help boost your energy, maintain your independence, protect your heart, and manage symptoms of illness or pain as well as your weight. And regular exercise is also good for your mind, mood, and memory. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. It can include anything from walking and gardening to recreational sport.
We also recommend that you practice pelvic floor exercises for five minutes, two

or three times daily, you will likely see significant improvement in your ability to control urinary leakage. Pelvic floor exercises can help strength your pelvic floor and can help you hold pee in your bladder longer.
Click here to take look at how easy they are to do and we recommend you do them daily. Alternatively you can purchase an
IncoStress – an incontinence aid that is medically designed to strengthen pelvic floor muscles.
